Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Referral Services is seeking experienced Emergency Veterinarians to join our 24-hour emergency hospital. Our 21,000 square foot facility has top of the line medical equipment and digital X-ray machines.

As our ideal Candidate, you have:

  • A valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, enabling practice in Canada
  • A member in good standing of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
  • Completed an internship in Emergency or Critical Care or prior emergency experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY:

The ER department has immediate openings for part time animal care attendants. These positions will interest individuals with clinical experience who are willing to work in an extremely fast paced and busy environment. You are a team player who shows care and compassion to patients and clients.

Animal Care Attendants (ACAs) are responsible for the daily care of patients. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well being of dogs and cats. ACAs are required to help the RVTs and veterinarians restrain patients. It is essential that ACAs have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle and comforting care for hospitalized pets.

SALARY:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Neurology department is looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is willing to learn and be challenged to join our growing Neurology service. This position allows for you to perform a wide array of tasks, including radiography, anesthesia induction and monitoring, patient care, laboratory analysis, MRI and interaction with clients. The successful applicant will learn from trained neurology doctors and RVTs, and anesthetic training from an expert anesthesiologist. Our hospital boasts top of the line equipment that includes an onsite MRI.

Radiology Technician

POSITION:  Radiology Technician

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

HOURS: 40 hours per week, potentially including weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • RVT with 2 years’ experience working in a specialty veterinary setting preferred, but willing to consider those with experience in human imaging modalities.
  • Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to develop positive interpersonal relationships in a busy, multi-departmental setting.
  • Experience with diagnostic imaging preferred, including CT, MRI, and x-ray. Experience with hands free radiology techniques an asset.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for facilitating MRI and CT scans for all MOVEH departments, as well as assisting with radiographs for departments when time allows. They will communicate closely with all departments to ensure the schedule runs smoothly and all patients can be accommodated. This individual will be trained in advanced techniques in order to maintain patient and team safety as well as efficiency. The successful candidate will practice high quality veterinary medicine and patient care with the expertise and technical know-how to extend to other team members. Experience with complicated anesthesia is an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and you must be comfortable interacting with different personalities. Working independently and as part of a team are equally important. The ability to multi-task will be required in this role.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Radiology support to assist veterinary staff as needed for setup before, during and after imaging.
  • Responsible for the technical administration of digital imaging information systems and technologies and the day-to-day support of users of these systems and technologies. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of imaging technologies and the ability to troubleshoot imaging systems when needed. Training will be provided.
  • Responsible for administering and monitoring sedation and anesthesia for patients requiring radiology procedures, and working closely with our anesthesiologists to ensure high patient care and safety.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and protocols involving MRI and CT technology.
  • Ability to multi task and juggle priorities, including interacting with veterinarians and staff of different departments and scheduling of various procedures.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS: 

The Radiology technician will report directly to the Specialty Technical Manager, and attend Lead meetings as a representative of the radiology department.

SALARY: Will be competitive and commensurate with experience
