The Neurology department is looking for enthusiastic candidates who are willing to learn and be challenged to join our growing Neurology service. This position allows for you to perform a wide array of tasks, including radiography, anesthesia induction and monitoring, patient care, laboratory analysis, MRI and interaction with clients. The successful applicants will learn from trained neurology doctors and RVTs, and anesthetic training from an expert anesthesiologist. Our hospital boasts top of the line equipment that includes an on site MRI.

Part Time Animal Care Attendant - Cardiology

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cardiology Department is currently seeking a dedicated, part time Animal Care Attendant (ACA) to join our friendly service starting as soon as possible. This position allows for you to assist with a wide array of tasks, such as caring for hospitalized patients, assisting our Cardiology RVT with blood collection, ECG, blood pressure measurement, thoracic radiographs and cardiac ultrasound as well as assisting with some procedures (pericardiocentesis, thoracocentesis, abdominocentesis, pacemaker implantation, PDA occlusion). Some client communication may be required as well as the organization and filing of cardiology records.

Our ACAs are responsible for the daily care of patients. This includes routine husbandry such as feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well being of our hospitalized patients. ACAs are required to help the RVTs and veterinarians restrain patients, position patients for radiographs and echocardiography, prepare patients for procedures, and provide comforting care for all patients. Organizing laboratory submissions and providing basic client updates are also required. It is essential that ACAs have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for hospitalized pets and deal with clients and other hospital staff respectfully.

In this position, the candidate will be responsible for patient care including feeding, walking and ensuring patients are clean and comfortable. Duties will also include housekeeping, safe and comfortable restraint of animals and assisting RVTs, the Criticalist, Emergency Doctors and other Specialists. Candidates must be enthusiastic, motivated and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
