Our 21,000 square foot facility has top of the line medical equipment and digital X-ray machines.

As our ideal Candidate, you have:

            • A valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, enabling practice in Canada
            • A member in good standing of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
            • Completed an internship in Emergency or Critical Care or prior emergency experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY:

The ER department has immediate openings for part time animal care attendants. These positions will interest individuals with clinical experience who are willing to work in an extremely fast paced and busy environment. You are a team player who shows care and compassion to patients and clients.

Animal Care Attendants (ACAs) are responsible for the daily care of patients. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well being of dogs and cats. ACAs are required to help the RVTs and veterinarians restrain patients. It is essential that ACAs have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle and comforting care for hospitalized pets.

JOB SUMMARY:

We have an upcoming opening for this position. The Medical Records Receptionist’s primary function is the maintenance of all patient records, files and the maintenance of the Specialists’ schedules. The incumbent will maintain and manage a well organized medical record filing system, both paper and electronic. Works with Pet Insurance Companies with regards to patient claims. Assists with the maintenance of the hospital software system. Responsible for on site and off site file storage which requires some heavy lifting. Reception back up on an as needed basis. You must be willing and able to work in an extremely fast paced environment and have superior customer service/client relations skills. You are caring and compassionate towards patients and clients.

Emergency Technical Manager

POSITION:  Emergency Technical Manager, MOVEH

DEPARTMENT: Emergency Services

 

HOURS: 40 hours per week, with a mix of days and evenings (at least 1-2 evenings per week) and a minimum of one weekend per month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2 years’ management experience, preferably in the veterinary industry
    • Good communication skills with the ability to develop positive interpersonal relationships in a busy Emergency Department

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Staff Management, provide leadership to a team of RVTs and ACAs, including on the floor assessments of Emergency workflow. Responsibilities will include:
        • creating a positive, safe and efficient work environment by providing clear communication, establish staffing needs in collaboration with HR and submit requests for hiring additional full and and part time positions,
        • organize and provide guidance for specialized training to new hires and existing staff
        • Perform consistent and regular follow up on outstanding issues with regards to workload, performance issues/challenges and other organizational/technical matters,
        • Apply progressive discipline when required in conjunction with HR
        • Creating and maintaining protocols, policies and procedures, and overall good working conditions for a motivated team.
    • Client Support by working collaboratively with the Head Veterinarian/Clinical Manager and our team of experienced veterinarians, to support their requirements in the provision of clinical care and an exceptional client experience for our Emergency Department clients. This support would include:
        • customer service training for our staff including billing and invoicing for emergency patients,
        • management of the required medical logs (drugs, laboratory, radiology),
        • assistance in the follow up with a dissatisfied customer,
        • provision of the supports – staff, supplies, equipment – required for appropriate clinical care.
    • Business Operations includes managing the daily operations of the Emergency Department by
        • Assistance with annual budgeting including revenue and expense projections, as well as managing to the forecasted budget throughout the year.
        • Monitoring the staff and supply resources to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
        • Working with the administrative support staff to manage the accounts receivable, the inventory, the equipment purchase requirements, and the monthly reporting requirements for the Management Committee
    • Representation of the Emergency Department by attendance at the Department Lead and other hospital meetings, as required

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:

    • Reports directly to the General Manager. Provides weekly updates to the Emergency DVM Clinical Manager and//or General Manager.
