Full Time and Part Time Emergency Doctors

    • POSITION:  Full-time and Part-time Veterinarians

      DEPARTMENT:  Emergency

      Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Referral Services is seeking experienced Emergency Veterinarians to join our 24-hour emergency hospital. We are AAHA accredited and strive to provide our clients and patients with the highest levels of support, comfort and peace of mind knowing they are in the best possible hands. Our 21,000 square foot facility has top of the line medical equipment and digital X-ray machines.

      As our ideal Candidate, you have:

      • A valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, enabling practice in Canada
      • A member in good standing of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
      • Completed an internship in Emergency or Critical Care or prior emergency experience preferred
      • Strong leadership skills combined with a positive team player attitude to enable our teams to flourish
      • Excellent diagnostic skills and comfortable with routine emergency surgeries
      • Exemplary customer service that builds loyalty and trust with your clients
      • Strong organizational skills which allow you to stay focused and work under pressure
        • Ability to handle working shift work that will include days, overnights, weekends and holidays

Emergency Animal Care Attendant

Animal Care Attendant, VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital – Emergency Department.

About the Opportunity!

VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Emergency department is currently recruiting for a dependable and outgoing Animal Care Attendant to join our clinic. This part-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the department. A few attributes and qualifications are:

· Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance

· Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable

· Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents

· Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

· General housekeeping duties

· Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and updated medical procedures

· Compassion and nurturing attitude

· Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment

· Ability to adapt in changing situations

· Working with a team focus, assisting the veterinary staff with various procedures, tasks and treatments

Registered Veterinary Technician - Surgery Department

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Surgery – VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Emergency Hospital

VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Emergency Hospital is currently recruiting for a dedicated fulltime Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our established network of highly skilled professionals. Our small animal surgical team has excellent knowledge to share with you and will train you on our up-to-date surgical and diagnostic equipment. While previous experience in a Veterinary Hospital is an asset, our RVT’s are given the necessary tools and resources to help you succeed in this role. Additional qualifications and attributes you must embrace to be successful in this role;

· Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT or eligible to register

· Confident team player who can also work independently when required

· Ability to perform a variety of clinical procedures including (not limited to): Venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in house lab work, patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, assistance and patient recovery

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep accurate and detailed patient files

· Willing to further enhance technical skills and expertise including performing advanced anesthesia, CRI delivery and more.

· Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast paced environment

· Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive attitude in working with your colleagues and pet parents

· Strong ability to problem-solve

Our Surgery RVTs have the opportunity to work with and learn from other Surgery RVTs, ACAs as well as our board-certified Veterinary Surgeons, Anesthesiologists and other specialists. If you want to expand your knowledge and skills, joining the MOVEH team would be a great opportunity for career advancement.

Schedule: This full time position will include some Saturdays.

VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Emergency Hospital is currently recruiting for a dedicated fulltime Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our established network of highly skilled professionals.  Our Internal Medicine team has excellent knowledge to share with you and will train you on our up-to-date medicine, procedures and diagnostic equipment. While previous experience in a Veterinary Hospital is an asset, our RVT’s are given the necessary tools and resources to help you succeed in this role. Additional qualifications and attributes you must embrace to be successful in this role;

  • Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT or eligible to register
  • Confident team player who can also work independently when required
  • Ability to perform a variety of clinical procedures including (not limited to): Venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in house lab work, patient assessment, sedation and anesthesia, and patient recovery
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep accurate and detailed patient files
  • Willing to further enhance technical skills and expertise
  • Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

Our Internal Medicine RVTs have the opportunity to work with and learn from other RVTs and knowledgeable support staff as well as our board-certified Veterinary Internists, Anesthesiologists and other specialists. Schedule: 40 hours/week – days to be determined, but will not include weekends
